Sustainability.

Silverside™ salmon requires only 1.0 kilos of wild pelagic fish to grow to maturity and maintain the same levels of Omega-3s than any other salmon. By achieving this figure, we have become the first “net fish producers” in the salmon farming industry. Sustainability is a concept we take seriously and Silverside™ can help address consumer demand for responsibly sourced fish.

HOW WE

achieve this?

MARINE ALGAE PELLETS

Algae is the original source for Omega-3 fatty acids in the food chain and can now be produced in an effective and highly sustainable way. Marine algae are grown on land in closed fermentation tanks where they convert renewable, sustainable plant sugars into a DHA rich ingredient in a matter of days. This process provides a fully traceable and consistent source of DHA and protects supply from the variability of geography and seasonality.

FISH TRIMMINGS (Marine by Products)

These are ingredients, which are derived from fish caught through industrial fishing for human consumption. It is then processed to produce high-value feed for animal consumption. With the use of these products, it is possible to increase efficiency and reduce food waste, as well as reduce the pressure on wild fisheries.
